Hi! I'm Joseph (professionally known to my students as Mr. Kim). I'm basically the FUN teacher, but also very straightfoward one so I save your time and attention.

You'll always have a few teachers in your high school who do not know how to teach properly. That would definetely kill interest in that subject. Then your marks go down :(

We can prevent that. But, don't wait till you are absolutely "cooked" in your course. At that point, it would be unrealistic to aim for high expectations. Work with me before it happens!

I can be more than just your local tutor. I'm going to be your coach.

I know A LOT about how teachers are going to test/quiz students - in fact, I made too.

I am close in age to my students so I get how they think, what stresses them out, and how to make difficult concepts actually click.

  • "Lessons never feel like a boring school lecture. It honestly feels like a comfortable, casual conversation with someone you are completely chill with. Because the vibe is relaxed yet engaging, the information actually sticks to your brain instead of just going in one ear and out the other."

    — Rowen

(St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic High School, Richmond Hill)

  • “I started tutoring with Mr. Kim since I was in Grade 6. I am now finishing my second semester in Grade 10. That will be 6 years of tutoring by the time I graduate high school. I think it’s very safe to say that he is a very consistent teacher who genuinely cares about my interests. My grades have been in the 95 to 99 zone for a while. And, as an only child, it’s almost like I have an older brother that I look up to. A bit cheesy to say LOL but I feel that this is true.”

    — Isaac

    (St. Michael’s Choir School, Downtown)

  • “I actually know Mr. Kim from my tennis club and I started getting IB chemistry lessons from him as soon as I heard that he is a well-known tutor in our community. I kinda also figured out that some of my smart friends were already tutoring with him 😂”

    — Aiden

(Alexander Mackenzie High School, Richmond Hill)

  • "A lot of tutors just smile and give you a useless confidence boost even when you are slacking. You get a real, much needed reality check here when you actually need one, but delivered in a comfortable, constructive way. That honesty is exactly what forced me to fix my study habits and save my marks."

    — Nathan

(Earl Haig Secondary School, North York)

  • "Quite simply, Mr. Kim is the absolute G.O.A.T. of Chemistry and Biology. He’s rlly chill but very professional at the same time like he gets how to talk with people our age without being awkward. He also has elite ball knowledge."

    — Jiwon, Student (Northview Heights Secondary School, North York)

  • “We started tutoring just before my Grade 11 year started.

I literally got 100 on my Grade 11 Chemistry Exam and my final mark was 95. I just finished Grade 12 chemistry last semester with a 98. I'm currently doing Grade 12 Biology with him and my midterm grade was 97.”

    — Chloe

    (Eden High School, St. Catharines)
